LARGE HOME IMPROVEMENT CHAIN – AUSTRALIA

THIS WAS A BIG ONE! This company unfortunately went into liquidation and we were contracted to complete make goods to their 16 stores located across QLD and Northern NSW. It was a 3-stage project consisting of the pulldowns of all the internal and external racking in 12 of the 16 locations and perform remediation and cleaning of flooring in all 16. On the Project Management side of things, weekly reporting to the national contractor was required as well as liaising with the 4 sites that were nominated as distribution centres. We also worked closely with the contractors on each site to fit in with their schedule as well as co-ordinate access with security contractors when sites were handed over to us for the remediation phase. Additionally, we liaised with MHE suppliers (Forklift and EWP) and the appointed national transport contractor to organize semi-trucks to each site. Approximately 10 semi-trailer loads of racking per site was removed, plus rubbish disposal and other items. We had a team of over 250 crew members working long hours, 7 days a week to complete this monumental task all while making sure we were adhering to the strict workplace health and safety guidelines of the client. The stores were still trading so we had to work around their daily operations while catering to each individual store’s needs. The make good project was highly successful and the results speak for themselves. A credit to everyone involved.
